SEARCH PAGE
Welcome to our search page! From here, you may access several of the most popular search engines on the World Wide Web. To begin a search, choose a search engine and type in the word or words for which you want to find. Or you may click on the engine's logo to go to that engine's home page.
Yahoo! was one of the Web's first popular search engines. Pages in Yahoo! are grouped by subject. So, the best Yahoo! queries are for a general subject heading like chess, linux, or Simpsons sounds.

Lycos gives more detailed descriptions on a given search and tells you what percent sure it is that it found the correct item. You should enter more specific search terms than Yahoo!. Search terms are matched to the description of the page in the Lycos database.

AltaVista is one of the newer search engines. The engine is trying to index every single word on the WWW. AltaVista will try to find every occurance of the words you type in, so you need to be very specific. A "+" before a word means it must appear in the document for which you're searching; a "-" means the word must not appear in the document.

Webcrawler is a spider, meaning it indexes all the words on a page. However, you get no descriptions or details from a Webcrawler search, only titles. Webcrawler also has a comprehensive database.
