McMillan Adult Day Care Center provides care and supervision, monitoring of general health, social interaction and peer contact for the impaired or socially isolated adult.
The center may help physically, mentally and emotionally impaired adults to remain in the community.
By supervising and assisting in physical and mental exercises, we can maintain, or improve their level of functioning allowing them to remain at home with loved ones for a longer period of time.
The center's staff provide care for individuals who cannot be left alone during the day, but don't require 24 hour institutional nursing care. Our services may allow family members to return to work, to shop, or to have free time to themselves for varied reasons.

- To assist in the care of client's special needs to relieve family caretakers.
- To delay or prevent institutionalization by providing alternative care.
- To improve participant's quality of life by assisting them to return to productive activity and involvement with peer group.
- To improve participants self image and prevent loneliness.

- Stimulating social environment.
- Daily exercise class.
- Reading and discussing current events.
- Special interest and hobby groups.
- Bingo and other group and individual games.
- Arts and crafts projects.
- Music, movies, television, and dancing.
- Speakers.

- Supervised range-of-motion exercise program.
- First aid/CPR trained staff.
- Morning "Health Check".
- Client's charts available to family and physicians upon request.
- Referrals made on request to community sevice agencies.
- Coorperates with the client's family and personal physician, following their recommendations to assure consistency and quality care.

- Large, comfortable activity room with ample seating space with lounge chairs.
- Cable, stereo and VCR.
- Books and magazines.
- Puzzles and board games.
- Ample parking and wheelchair accessible.

- 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday except holidays.

- Van Services within city limits on limited basis.

- Determined on individual basis. Clients over the age of sixty or disabled may qualify for Social Service Block Grant, Medicaid Waiver or CHOICE funds based on age/disability and income eligibilty.
- For those clients needing services, who don't qualify for the above funding sources, private pay rates are available and may be discussed with staff.

- Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on staff.
- Certified Activity Specialist.
- Program Aide.
- Staff members certified by American Red Cross in First Aid and CPR annually.
- Maximum client-to-staff ratio of 6 to 1 to insure individual attention.
- Volunteers.

McMillan Adult Day Care Center is a social service program of the West Central Indiana Economic Development District, Inc. and Area 7 Agency on Aging and Disabled.
Funding is provided through a Social Service Block Grant, Medicaid and CHOICE Funds, a grant from Vigo County Council and Commisioners, the United Way and project income generated from a variety of sources and activities.
